Este fil\u00f3sofo italiano fue uno de los fundadores de la hermen\u00e9utica contempor\u00e1nea junto con gadamer y ricoeur. Su teor\u00eda de la interpretaci\u00f3n -construida sobre la base de un personalismo ontol\u00f3gico de tradici\u00f3n existencialista- afirma el valor revelativo de la persona como ser inserto en la historia contra todo historicismo de raigambre hegeliana. Para el autor la historia posee un valor revelativo en cuanto que tradici\u00f3n, reenv\u00edo al origen o verdad ontol\u00f3gica anterior a cualquier formulaci\u00f3n ideol\u00f3gica. Seg\u00fan su filosof\u00eda no hay dial\u00e9ctica sino momentos de revelaci\u00f3n en las diversas culturas y un acervo cultural que se mantiene en la tradici\u00f3n para permitir una constante
