Esta investigaci\u00f3n se lleva a cabo desde diferentes perspectivas, incluyendo elementos de modelizaci\u00f3n, de optimizaci\u00f3n estoc\u00e1sctica, y de an\u00e1lisis de rendimiento. Tras un cap\u00edtulo de motivaci\u00f3n y otro resumiendo las metodolog\u00edas, la tesis sigue con cuatro cap\u00edtulos que muestran los resultados cient\u00edficos obtenidos. El primero de ellos est\u00e1 dedicado al an\u00e1lisis de una cola con un \u00fanico servidor, en el que la capacidad var\u00eda con el tiempo. La tesis demuestra que la pol\u00edtica \u00f3ptima de servicio para el caso de capacidad constante no vale en el caso general. Adem\u00e1s, cuando el proceso de capacidad del sistema sigue un determinado patr\u00f3n, en la tesis se caracteriza la pol\u00edtica \u00f3ptima. En los siguientes dos cap\u00edtulos, se modeliza una red inal\u00e1mbrica de transmisi\u00f3n de datos, y se resuelve el problema de optimizaci\u00f3n asociado a la necesidad de cumplir con la transmisi\u00f3n de datos de la forma m\u00e1s eficiente posible. Adem\u00e1s, fruto de un an\u00e1lisis matem\u00e1tico del modelo de la red, se da con la condici\u00f3n necesaria y suficiente para que una pol\u00edtica sea, al mismo tiempo, asint\u00f3ticamente \u00f3ptima, y que ofrece una estabilidad m\u00e1xima a la red de transmisi\u00f3n de datos. Se demuestra que la pol\u00edtica obtenida del problema de optimizaci\u00f3n cumple las condiciones exigidas para tal fin. Por \u00faltimo, se utilizan metodolog\u00edas similares para modelizar y optimizar un sistema en el que se utilizan recursos p\u00fablicos para ayudar a empresas en crisis.
