Dadas las condiciones f\u00edsicas vulnerables en las que se encuentran muchos centros p\u00fablicos en la rep\u00fablica dominicana, y por la escasa asignaci\u00f3n de recursos financieros dedicados a este vector del sistema, este tipo de gesti\u00f3n puede resultar oportuno para al menos reducir el d\u00e9ficit de mobiliario y aumentar la comodidad del existente, adem\u00e1s de  alargar su vida \u00fatil, lo que resulta no solo en una mejora de las condiciones de docencia en el aula, sino en una optimizaci\u00f3n de los recursos invertidos por el estado.   el objetivo de esta investigaci\u00f3n es encontrar los elementos necesarios para un nuevo modelo de gesti\u00f3n de reparaci\u00f3n y mantenimiento de mobiliario escolar que sirva en modo eficiente, tanto t\u00e9cnica como financieramente, al sistema educativo oficial de la rep\u00fablica dominicana. Para estos fines, se defini\u00f3 un modelo de estudio para el marco te\u00f3rico, que parte del tema del espacio escolar.  Dicho modelo qued\u00f3 dividido en cinco vectores de estudio: la legislaci\u00f3n educativa, arquitectura escolar, pedagog\u00eda, higiene escolar y usuarios.  Se dise\u00f1\u00f3 una metodolog\u00eda de tipo mixto, cuantitativa y cualitativa, para realizar ante todo la evaluaci\u00f3n de  una experiencia de reparaci\u00f3n realizada hace pocos a\u00f1os en dicho pa\u00eds.  Los instrumentos utilizados fueron  cuestionarios y una ficha de observaci\u00f3n para documentar la condici\u00f3n del mobiliario reparado. los hallazgos de dicho proceso de evaluaci\u00f3n indican, que un modelo participativo, donde se involucra la comunidad escolar alrededor de una escuela, y que empodera a las personas correctas, puede de forma efectiva, hacer frente al reto de rescatar y reparar el mobiliario escolar en las escuelas p\u00fablicas, produciendo as\u00ed un ahorro en dos maneras, alargando la vida \u00fatil del mismo y reduciendo la necesidad de compra de mobiliario nuevo.  Se demostr\u00f3 adem\u00e1s que puede aumentar la calidad del proceso educativo, como afirmaron los docentes encuestados, que relacionaron positivamente los cambios en el aula, fruto de la reparaci\u00f3n, con un aumento de la disciplina, mayor comodidad y facilidad para la docencia.  Por otra parte, todos los actores involucrados en dicho programa consideraron los resultados excelentes o muy buenos y afirmaron estar dispuestos a repetir la experiencia en el futuro.  Estos hallazgos y los conceptos aprendidos a partir de los aspectos estudiados en el marco te\u00f3rico, han permitido definir en primer lugar, algunas condiciones deseables previas a la implantaci\u00f3n del modelo, y luego, los elementos conceptuales, clasificados en procesos, insumos, productos y contexto, que quedan articulados en un nuevo modelo de gesti\u00f3n de reparaci\u00f3n de mobiliario, el cual rescata algunas de las lecciones aprendidas de esta experiencia y que ofrece una oportunidad de abordar el problema en un modo m\u00e1s completo y acorde con mejores est\u00e1ndares de calidad que los actuales, en el contexto educativo dominicano. abstract  this thesis is about the results that can be achieved when the maintenance and repair of furniture in public schools is approached with a model for management that involves the whole school community and thus, more participatory.  Given the vulnerable physical conditions presented by an important number of  public schools in the dominican republic, and for the scarce financial resources dedicated to this vector of the system, this type of management may be appropriate to at least reduce the deficit of furniture and increase comfort in the classroom, in addition to extending the useful life of existing furniture, resulting not only in  improved teaching conditions in the classroom, but in an optimization of the resources invested by the government.  the objective of this research is to find the necessary elements for a new model of management of repair and maintenance of school furniture that serves in which is more efficient, both technical as well as financially, for the official educational system of the dominican republic.  For these purposes, a model to study the topic of space in schools was developed to define a theoretical framework.  This model has five vectors of study: educational legislation, school architecture, pedagogy, school hygiene and users.  A mixed methodology, quantitative and qualitative, was designed to achieve primarily the evaluation of a repair program executed a few years ago in this country.  The instruments used were questionnaires and an observation sheet, to document the condition of the repaired furniture. the findings of the process of evaluation indicate, that a participatory model, where the school community around a school is involved, and empowers the right people, can effectively deal with the challenge of rescuing and repairing the school furniture in the public schools, thus producing savings in two ways, extending the life of the furniture and reducing the need for purchase of new pieces.  It also showed, that the quality of the educational process is enhanced, as claimed the surveyed teachers, which positively related changes in the classroom, fruit of the repair, with an increase in discipline, comfort, and ease of teaching.. On the other hand, all the actors involved in the program considered the results excellent or very good and affirmed to be willing to repeat the experience in the future.
