Poreste motivo, el objetivo de esta tesis consisti\u00f3 en intensificar el proceso de polimerizaci\u00f3n en emulsi\u00f3n devac-veova10 estabilizado por pvoh en dos reactores continuos de mezcla perfecta en serie. Para ello,se estudi\u00f3 el efecto que las diferentes variables de operaci\u00f3n ten\u00edan sobre las propiedades coloidales y enla microestructura del copol\u00edmero formado.En primer lugar, se llevaron a cabo reacciones en un reactor semicontinuo para tener productos dereferencia y comparar despu\u00e9s los l\u00e1tex obtenidos en el reactor continuo. Se estudi\u00f3 el efecto del tipo deiniciador y el surfactante en la cin\u00e9tica de polimerizaci\u00f3n y la microestructura del pol\u00edmero formado. Sevio que el surfactante reduc\u00eda la entrada de radicales debido a la transferencia de cadena al pvoh. Esteefecto era m\u00e1s pronunciado para kps\/nams que para tbhp\/asac, ya que los radicales formados conkps eran m\u00e1s hidrof\u00edlicos y no pod\u00edan entrar directamente a las part\u00edculas de pol\u00edmero.Con el modelo matem\u00e1tico desarrollado, se descubri\u00f3 que el gel que se med\u00eda experimentalmenteestaba afectado por la presencia del pvoh, debido a la insolubilidad de este surfactante en thf. Por ello,se desarroll\u00f3 un nuevo m\u00e9todo para determinar el gel real y el peso molecular correcto del pol\u00edmero.Se construy\u00f3 el reactor continuo con dos reactores de mezcla perfecta en serie y se estudi\u00f3 el efecto dediferentes variables de operaci\u00f3n (temperatura, tiempo de residencia, tipo de iniciador, concentraci\u00f3n delemulsificante, etc.) En la microestructura del copol\u00edmero y las propiedades coloidales. Se observ\u00f3 que losiones extra\u00eddos de la pared de los reactores de acero inoxidable afectaban en la cin\u00e9tica dedescomposici\u00f3n del par redox. Adem\u00e1s, se desarroll\u00f3 un modelo matem\u00e1tico para el proceso continuo,considerando un sistema totalmente segregado. Se vio que la entrada de radicales era menor que en elproceso semicontinuo ya que en las reacciones de continuo hay m\u00e1s cantidad del pvoh en el reactor, porlo que se esperaba mayor abstracci\u00f3n del hidrogeno del pvoh.Para terminar, se aument\u00f3 la escala del proceso y se estudio el efecto de las condiciones del proceso en unplanta piloto. Se vio que dividiendo la alimentaci\u00f3n del iniciador entre los dos reactores era posiblecontrolar el calor de la reacci\u00f3n.
