La interacci\u00f3n del cuerpo humano con materiales externos sujetos a una carga mec\u00e1nica alternante en un medio altamente corrosivo todav\u00eda presenta ciertos desaf\u00edos. Los factores que contribuyen principalmente al fallo de una pr\u00f3tesis son el apantallamiento de cargas y la pobre osteointegracion.  en la presente tesis el problema de la fallida de pr\u00f3tesis ha sido abordado desde el punto de vista del material y de la osteointegracion en un intento de dar una soluci\u00f3n global al problema. El niobio y el hafnio, cuya total biocompatibilidad ha sido demostrada, se han utilizado para dise\u00f1ar una aleaci\u00f3n de titanio. El efecto de dichos aleantes respecto a la microestructura y el m\u00f3dulo el\u00e1stico ha sido estudiado y la mejor composici\u00f3n ha sido profundamente caracterizada en t\u00e9rminos de microestructura, m\u00f3dulo el\u00e1stico, resistencia a la corrosi\u00f3n y energ\u00eda superficial. Fragmentos recombinados de fibronectina han sido sintetizados abarcando la zona de adhesi\u00f3n celular y la uni\u00f3n de heparina, las cuales son esenciales para la viabilidad celular. Dichos motivos han sido utilizados para funcionalizar la superficie de la aleaci\u00f3n tinbhf. Dos m\u00e9todos de uni\u00f3n diferentes han sido estudiados: fisisorci\u00f3n y silanizaci\u00f3n. La silanizaci\u00f3n es un m\u00e9todo que no se ha utilizado hasta el momento para inmovilizar fragmentos de fibronectina sobre superficies met\u00e1licas y en la presente tesis su idoneidad ha sido demostrada.  finalmente, estudios celulares in vitro se han llevado a cabo con cada fragmento y con diferentes combinaciones de ambos, lo cual ha mostrado la importancia de la zona de uni\u00f3n de heparina para obtener una respuesta celular equivalente a la obtenida con la mol\u00e9cula de fibronectina en cuanto a adhesi\u00f3n celular, proliferaci\u00f3n y
