Su biodegradabilidad permitir\u00eda solucionar los problemas medioambientales de acumulaci\u00f3n de los pl\u00e1sticos convencionales. Adem\u00e1s, los polihidroxialcanoatos pueden ser una fuente de mon\u00f3meros de \u00e1cidos r-(3)-hidroxialcanoicos, que presentan utilidad como sillares estructurales para la s\u00edntesis de productos de alto valor a\u00f1adido.En este trabajo de ha identificado, purificado y caracterizado una nueva mcl-pha despolimerasa de la bacteria streptosporangium roseum. Este enzima es capaz de degradar polihidroxialcanoatos de cadena media para obtener mon\u00f3meros de r-(3)-hidroxioctanoato. Adem\u00e1s, se ha inmovilizado la actividad mcl-pha despolimerasa sobre soportes hidrof\u00f3bicos o magn\u00e9ticos para obtener biocatalizadores robustos de utilidad para ser empleados en la
