El objetivo principal de este trabajo es profundizar en el estudio de la saliva de phlebotomus perniciosus, principal vector de la leishmaniosis en el sur de europa. Hemos descrito, por primera vez, el mapa prote\u00f3mico de la saliva de este insecto combinando las t\u00e9cnicas de electroforesis bidimensional y espectroscop\u00eda de masas y, hemos identificado las prote\u00ednas antig\u00e9nicas para diversos animales de laboratorio. As\u00ed mismo, se ha estudiado la cin\u00e9tica que siguen los anticuerpos antisaliva en ratones y en conejos expuestos experimentalmente a las picaduras de p. Perniciosus. Se construy\u00f3 una genoteca de adnc a partir de las gl\u00e1ndulas salivales de p. Perniciosus, identificando mol\u00e9culas inmunog\u00e9nicas que, posteriormente, se han clonado, expresado y purificado. Las tres prote\u00ednas recombinantes producidas se han evaluado como marcadores de exposici\u00f3n a las picaduras de los flebotomos. Finalmente, utilizando las prote\u00ednas recombinantes y el extracto salival completo se ha realizado una evaluaci\u00f3n, mediante elisa, de la exposici\u00f3n de reservorios dom\u00e9sticos y silvestres a las picaduras de p. Perniciosus procedentes de una zona de Madrid en el contexto de un brote epid\u00e9mico de leishmaniosis visceral.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
