Su evoluci\u00f3n con frecuencia es imprevisible y su incidencia est\u00e1 aumentando m\u00e1s r\u00e1pidamente que la de cualquier otra neoplasia de la piel. Adem\u00e1s, los tratamientos habituales contra el c\u00e1ncer no son efectivos en la terapia del melanoma, debido a que es resistente a la quimioterapia y a la radioterapia.En las \u00faltimas d\u00e9cadas, se est\u00e1 intentando introducir la bioterapia del c\u00e1ncer, que se basa en el uso de sustancias que pueden ser sintetizadas por el propio sistema inmune del paciente denominadas agentes inmunomoduladores, las citocinas son agentes inmunomoduladores.Utilizando el modelo de melanoma experimental b16, nuestro trabajo se ha centrado en la participaci\u00f3n de las citocinas proinflamatorias (il-2, il-6, tnf-alpha) en la adquisici\u00f3n del fenotipo metast\u00e1tico. Los resultados obtenidos indican que las citocinas proinflamatorias modulan directamente la actividad de las c\u00e9lulas del melanoma, actuando como factores de supervivencia para las c\u00e9lulas del melanoma b16 a trav\u00e9s de distintos mecanismos. En el caso del tnf-alpha, el efecto estar\u00eda mediado por la inducci\u00f3n del regulador del ciclo celular p21waf1\/cip1.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
