En el marco del cambio clim\u00e1tico se espera que la temperatura del agua de mar suba entre 1.5\u00c2\u00b0c -2\u00c2\u00b0c durante el siglo 21, poniendo a prueba la capacidad de adaptaci\u00f3n de los organismos as\u00ed como la supervivencia. Por otra parte la contaminaci\u00f3n del medio marino es un problema a nivel mundial, y cabe esperar que las respuestas biol\u00f3gicas a la subida de temperatura sean diferentes en poblaciones sujetas a contaminaci\u00f3n. Por eso, el presente trabajo de investigaci\u00f3n pretende contribuir a la mejor interpretaci\u00f3n del efecto potencial de la subida de temperatura en la salud del ecosistema marino bas\u00e1ndose en el uso de biomarcadores de estr\u00e9s general as\u00ed como energ\u00e9ticos. Se evalu\u00f3 el efecto de la subida estacional de temperatura, de forma gradual o como choque t\u00e9rmico, en poblaciones de mejillones sujetas a diferentes niveles de contaminaci\u00f3n. Los biomarcadores son herramientas tempranas com\u00fanmente utilizadas en programas de biomonitoring para evaluar la salud del ecosistema marino. De la misma manera, los mejillones son especies centinela capaces de sobrevivir a un amplio rango de condiciones ambientales que adem\u00e1s presentan respuestas que se pueden medir a trav\u00e9s de biomarcadores. En general, la respuesta a la subida de la temperatura depende de la estaci\u00f3n a su vez la amplitud y severidad con la que la alteas temperaturas afectan a los mejillones dependen del umbral alcanzado. Adem\u00e1s dichas respuestas son diferentes dependiendo de la presencia de contaminaci\u00f3n y puede derivar en efectos sin\u00e9rgicos en casos de contaminaci\u00f3n aguda.
