Posteriormente se procedi\u00f3 al an\u00e1lisis estad\u00edstico de los datos obtenidos. resultados: la media m\u00e1s alta obtenida de caries fue en el grupo de 35-44 a\u00f1os con un valor de 15.4, la de ausencias por su parte se obtuvo para el grupo de edad de &gt;75 a\u00f1os. De los 165 pacientes estudiados, 144 carec\u00edan de alguna pieza dentaria. Las obturaciones fueron m\u00e1s numerosas en el caso de las mujeres (3.30) que en el caso de los varones (2.43). Los \u00edndices realizados mostraron que las restauraciones eran mayores en los pacientes en tratamiento con bifosfonatos. Los valores obtenidos en el \u00edndice de placa fueron muy elevados en la gran mayor\u00eda de los pacientes. De los 165 individuos estudiados, en 131 de ellos no exist\u00eda ning\u00fan tipo de alteraci\u00f3n oral, y en los 34 casos restantes (20,6%) hubo al menos una lesi\u00f3n oral, presentando algunos pacientes m\u00e1s de una. Las patolog\u00edas orales detectadas m\u00e1s frecuentemente fueron el torus mandibular y la \u00falcera (de distinta etiolog\u00eda), seguidos de la lengua saburral o vellosa y la queilitis (tambi\u00e9n de distinta etiolog\u00eda). La presencia de lesiones mandibulares fue mayor en pacientes en tratamiento con el bifosfonato y mucho mayor el n\u00famero de lesiones osteol\u00edticas que osteocondensantes. conclusiones: el estado de salud oral de estos pacientes era bastante deficiente, ya que tanto los \u00edndices de caries como el de placa estudiados obtuvieron valores muy altos. La presencia de patolog\u00eda oral no fue demasiado llamativa. La presencia de lesiones osteol\u00edticas mandibulares estaba relacionada directamente con el tratamiento con bifosfonatos, no as\u00ed la presencia de lesiones osteocondensantes.   abstract objective: to establish the oral health status and the most common oral injuries of patients with multiple myeloma before or during the treatment with zoledronic acid and to determine the type of jaw bone lesions in these patients as a result of the disease. methods: a sample of 165 patients, diagnosed with multiple myeloma was studied by clinical and radiological inspection. The data obtained were analyzed statistically. results: the highest average of cavities was obtained in the group of 35-44 years old patients with a 15.4 value, the highest average for the variable absence, was obtained for the group &gt; 75 years old patients. Among the 165 patients studied, 144 were missing at least, a tooth. Dental fillings were more numerous in the case of females (3.30), than in the case of males (2.43). The studied index showed that restorations were higher in patients treated with bisphosphonates. The values obtained on the bacterial plaque index was very high in the majority of patients. The most frequently detected oral diseases were mandibular torus and ulcers (of various etiologies), closely followed by coated tongue and cheilitis (also of different etiology). The presence of osteolytic mandibular injuries was higher in patients treated with the biphosphonate and much larger than the number of osteocondensant lesions. conclusions: the oral health status of these patients was quite poor, as both index studied bacterial plaque and cavities had very high values. The presence of oral pathology was not too remarkable.
