Esta clase de entornos se caracterizan por la presencia de objetos met\u00e1licos, interferencias electromagn\u00e9ticas y desvanecimientos por multi-trayecto. Para mitigar estos efectos, el trabajo desarrollado ha sido el siguiente: \u00c2\u00bf\tse ha estudiado una antena plana ifa (inverted f-antenna), operando en la banda ism (industrial, scientific and medical) de 2.45 ghz, en t\u00e9rminos de impedancia, eficiencia y diagrama de radiaci\u00f3n cuando se la acerca a una superficie met\u00e1lica. En este punto se ha definido el concepto de clearance distance como la distancia m\u00ednima entre antena y metal que garantiza una eficiencia de radiaci\u00f3n y ancho de banda aceptables. Para mejorar esta distancia se ha propuesto el dise\u00f1o de una red de adaptaci\u00f3n reconfigurable, de manera que la antena se pueda acercar a\u00fan m\u00e1s a una superficie met\u00e1lica sin sufrir degradaci\u00f3n en el rendimiento.  \u00c2\u00bf\tpor otro lado, para aumentar la robustez frente a interferencias de banda ancha y multi-trayecto, se ha propuesto el dise\u00f1o de una antena reconfigurable en frecuencia basada en topolog\u00eda de parche (por tanto, robusta frente a superficies met\u00e1licas), capaz de operar en las bandas ism de 868 mhz y 2.45 ghz, lo que supone una relaci\u00f3n de reconfiguraci\u00f3n de 3 entre las dos bandas de trabajo. La reconfiguraci\u00f3n se ha conseguido utilizando diodos pin, el impacto de los cuales en el rendimiento de la antena ha sido estudiado en profundidad. Se ha desarrollado tambi\u00e9n un m\u00e9todo anal\u00edtico sencillo para estimar la frecuencia de resonancia de antenas de parche compactas con diferentes configuraciones de slots. Finalmente, dada la orientaci\u00f3n pr\u00e1ctica de esta tesis doctoral, la antena reconfigurable dise\u00f1ada se ha integrado en una plataforma cr (cognitive radio) reconfigurable a todos los
