El segundo objetivo consisti\u00f3 en analizar el efecto de los compuestos fen\u00f3licos: naringenina, eriocitrina y citrolive\u00c2\u00bf, sobre el citado modelo. material y m\u00e9todos: utilizamos 50 animales distribuidas en cinco grupos (n=10): (i) control; (ii) control ovariectom\u00eda; (iii) ovariectom\u00eda + naringenina (1mg\/kg d\u00eda), (iv) ovariectom\u00eda + eriocitrina (1mg\/kg d\u00eda) y (v) ovariectom\u00eda + citrolive\u00c2\u00bf. (1mg\/kg d\u00eda). La ovariectom\u00eda realizada a los grupos (ii, iii, iv y v) fue bilateral y tras cuatro meses de tratamiento, los animales fueron sacrificados para extraer las muestras. Durante el experimento se pes\u00f3 a los animales peri\u00f3dicamente y se les extrajo sangre para el estudio bioqu\u00edmico. Realizamos las siguientes determinaciones: bioqu\u00edmica general, distribuci\u00f3n de la masa \u00f3sea y cuantificaci\u00f3n de la densidad mineral mediante microtomograf\u00eda computerizada, estudio anatomo-patol\u00f3gico del grosor de las trab\u00e9culas \u00f3seas y ion\u00f3mico de los componentes qu\u00edmicos del hueso mediante espectrofotometr\u00eda. \tresultados: en el estudio bioqu\u00edmico, los niveles s\u00e9ricos de calcio y f\u00f3sforo se mantuvieron estables en todos los grupos experimentales mientras que los niveles de fosfatasa alcalina total fueron superiores en el grupo (iii) naringenina y con valores muy parecidos al grupo (i) control en el resto de grupos tratados. No obstante, los resultados m\u00e1s relevantes fueron observados a nivel \u00f3seo. As\u00ed, tanto el grosor como el volumen de las trab\u00e9culas \u00f3seas de los animales tratados, eran mayores, que los de los animales ovariectomizados no tratados, grupo (ii). Adem\u00e1s, los animales, de los tres grupos tratados sufrieron menor p\u00e9rdida de los minerales que conforman la matriz \u00f3sea que los del grupo (ii) seg\u00fan el estudio ion\u00f3mico. \tconclusiones: consideramos, que la administraci\u00f3n de dichos compuestos ha demostrado efectividad, aunque de grado variable, sobre el modelo de osteoporosis desarrollado. No obstante, son necesarios futuros estudios que permitan clarificar su mecanismo de acci\u00f3n y seguir avanzando en su posible utilizaci\u00f3n en cl\u00ednica humana.  objective: the first aim of this work was to develop an ovariectomized rat model of osteoporosis. The second objective was to analyse the effect of the phenolic compounds, naringenia, eriocitrin and citrolive\u00c2\u00bf, on that model. materials and methods: we used 50 animals distributed into 5 groups (n=10): (i) control; (ii) ovariectomy control; (iii) ovariectomy + naringenin (1mg\/kg d\u00eda), (iv) ovariectomy + eriocitrin (1mg\/kg day) and (v) ovariectomy + citrolive\u00c2\u00bf (1mg\/kg day). Animals in groups (ii, iii, iv and v) were bilaterally ovareictomized. After 4 months of treatment, the animals were sacrificed to extract their femurs for analysis. Animal weight, general biochemistry, distribution of bone mass and quantification of mineral density by computerized microtomography, anatomical-pathological study of bone trabeculae and ionomic study of the chemical components of the bone by spectrophotometry, were carried out to determine the effects of the treatments on the animal model. results: at the end of the experiment all the animals of the treated groups showed a delayed weight gain compared with the control group (i). In the biochemical study, the serum levels of calcium and phosphorus remained stable in all the experimental groups, while the total alkaline phosphate levels were highest in in group (iii) naringenina and lowest in control group (ii) ovx. However, the most interesting results were observed at osseous level &#8211; both the thickness and volume of the trabeculae of the treated animals were greater than the corresponding measurements made in untreated animals that had been subjected to ovariectomy, group (ii). In addition, the ionomic study showed that the animals of the three treated groups suffered lower loss of the minerals conforming the bone matrix of group (ii). conclusion: we are of the opinion, therefore, that the administration of the mentioned compounds is effective, although to varying degrees, in the osteoporosis model developed. However, more studies are necessary to clarify their action mechanism before clinical application in humans can be considered.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
