En concreto, est\u00e1 centrada en el estudio del efecto de la ceramida, un l\u00edpido de relevancia biol\u00f3gica por su papel bioactivo en procesos tales como la muerte celular programada (apoptosis). La ceramida altera las propiedades biof\u00edsicas de las membranas generando diferentes fases gel segregadas altamente empaquetadas que pueden afectar al tr\u00e1fico membranal, as\u00ed como a la permeabilidad de la membrana y al paso de l\u00edpidos de la monocapa lip\u00eddica interna a la externa (flip-flop). Estos dominios segregados se ven afectados por la presencia de colesterol, dada la alta hidrofobicidad de ambas mol\u00e9culas que tienden a desplazarse mutuamente. En esta tesis se muestra que la ceramida y el colesterol pueden establecer interacciones formando fases propias estables enriquecidas en ambos al mismo tiempo. Para este prop\u00f3sito, se ha utilizado una combinaci\u00f3n de t\u00e9cnicas biof\u00edsicas tales como microscop\u00eda confocal, calorimetr\u00eda diferencial de barrido o la microscop\u00eda de fuerza at\u00f3mica, siendo \u00e9sta \u00faltima la m\u00e1s utilizada en este trabajo por su capacidad para analizar tanto topograf\u00eda como resistencia nanomec\u00e1nica. En la presente tesis se muestra que las fases enriquecidas tanto en colesterol como ceramida pueden aparecer en entornos de membrana celular, y se monitoriza un proceso de muerte celular de eritrocitos inducido por pb2+ donde la ceramida tiene un rol esencial.
