Esta tesis doctoral, abordada desde una perspectiva biofilmogr\u00e1fica, atiende a las circunstancias profesionales del cineasta y se detiene en las peculiaridades (sobre todo tem\u00e1ticas, pero tambi\u00e9n formales) que exhiben las pel\u00edculas que llevan su firma. El an\u00e1lisis del aspecto tem\u00e1tico revela que en la filmograf\u00eda de pedro olea existe un denominador com\u00fan que hace referencia a la plasmaci\u00f3n de los problemas que se derivan de lo que hemos dado en llamar la gesti\u00f3n social de la diferencia. De este modo, la alteridad se erige como protagonista indiscutible de unas historias que recurren con insistencia al arquetipo del antih\u00e9roe, del perdedor, del sometido. Sin embargo, este trabajo aspira a demostrar que la obra del cineasta vasco no pretende ser una hagiograf\u00eda del excluido como parecen (reiv)indicar las pel\u00edculas tomadas por separado, sino un implacable juicio contra la entidad que lo margina.Por otro lado, el enfoque historiogr\u00e1fico intenta esclarecer, por a\u00f1adidura, de qu\u00e9 manera las vicisitudes del recorrido profesional de pedro olea permiten comprender algunos aspectos fundamentales del estado de la industria cinematogr\u00e1fica espa\u00f1ola y vasca durante m\u00e1s de media
