Esta tesis doctoral pretende llenar este vaci\u00f3 con el an\u00e1lisis de los restos carpol\u00f3gicos y antracol\u00f3gicos de tell qarassa north (sur de siria). El objetivo es abordar cuestiones b\u00e1sicos como el tipo de vegetaci\u00f3n durante la ocupaci\u00f3n y la presencia de actividades agr\u00edcolas, as\u00ed como responder cuestiones que van m\u00e1s all\u00e1, como las estrategias de recolecci\u00f3n de madera, las actividades relacionadas con el cultivo de cereales y el uso de las plantas. Para abordar estas cuestiones se aplican m\u00e9todos novedosos, como an\u00e1lisis taf\u00f3nomicos y de contexto. Los resultados indican un medio de bosque-estepa y de vegetaci\u00f3n de rivera. Las estrategias de recolecci\u00f3n indican la explotaci\u00f3n de madera muerta con taxones de rivera, y la tala de taxones de bosque-estepa. La madera utilizada como combustible estaba seleccionada e inclu\u00eda taxones de bosque-estepa. Tambi\u00e9n se han caracterizas las t\u00e9cnicas de construcci\u00f3n de tejados y el aprovisionamiento de madera ex\u00f3tica para usos especiales. Los habitantes explotaban cereales silvestre y cultivaban cereales dom\u00e9sticos lo cual contradice la hip\u00f3tesis del levante del norte como foco original de la agricultura. La siembra se desarrollaba en oto\u00f1o y la recolecci\u00f3n en primavera. Los cereales se procesaban en un patio abierto y se guardaban en graneros familiares. Los alimentos inclu\u00edan cereales y legumbres procesados y plantas silvestres utilizadas en bebidas, especias y como verduras y harinas. Los materiales de construcci\u00f3n eran el adobe, plantas acu\u00e1ticas y cereales, el esti\u00e9rcol pudo haberse usado como material de construcci\u00f3n o combustible.
