Sería interesante también profundizar en la caracterización del/los metabolito/s responsable/s de esta actividad antibacteriana y una vez identificado/s, purificado/s con el objeto de caracterizar su naturaleza química y poder eventualmente mejorar su nivel de actividad antibiótica. valorization of the proliferating macroalgae grateloupia turuturu in the farming of the european abalone haliotis tuberculata abalone haliotis tuberculata, which farm production is not well developed in europe, seems a potential candidate for the diversification of shellfish aquaculture. However, its production faces two main limitations. First, the supply of livestocks in quality food are a major expense for enterprises. Second, in recent years, natural populations as well as livestocks have suffered high mortalities related to the pathogenic bacterium vibrio harveyi. the first objective of this thesis is the valuation of the macroalgae g. Turuturu as feed for abalone. Because of its proliferative nature, red seaweed grateloupia turuturu, present on the atlantic coast, constitute represent an available biomass that could be valorized in abalone aquaculture. Indeed, grateloupia turuturu presents a biochemical composition that could be of interest for abalone's growth. This species shows a clear preference for red seaweeds. The suitability of two red algae species, grateloupia turuturu and palmaria palmata, as feed for the culture of the european abalone h. Tuberculata, was evaluated over a 5-month period. Three experimental diets were tested: 1) palmaria palmata, 2) grateloupia turuturu and 3) a mixed diet of palmaria palmata and grateloupia turuturu (1:1). Biochemical composition (proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, ashes) of algae was measured. No mortality was observed during the time of the experiment in any of the treatments. Biochemical composition (proteins, carbohydrates, lipids and ash) from abalone (at the end of the experiment) and the algae used for food has been analyzed. Seaweed consumption by of abalone was estimated whenever new food distributed. Growth in length and weight was highest for abalones fed with p. Palmata and the mixed diet. Abalones exhibited a preference for p. Palmata and showed the highest weight gain with this macroalgae (107.8 ± 7.2%). G. Turuturu was fast in desintegrating in abalone rearing conditions and was not suitable for good growth of h. Tuberculata in a monospecific diet. However, this could be an interesting alga food supplement for the gastropod. In fact, when it is provided in g. Turuturu mixed diet, molluscs have a higher lipid content that when fed diet in palmaria palmata monospecific. another goal of this thesis was to study the effects of soluble, polar and apolar palmaria palmata native seaweed and grateloupia turuturu proliferative seaweed extracts. The aim of this study was finding potentially bioactive metabolites on growth of v. Harveyi. These analyzes were carried out by microplates techniques (bioscreen) and, in parallel, nmr analyzes were performed to identify any differences in the composition of the extracts. Our preliminary results, with and percentage of inhibition of 16%, are promising and they showed that g. Turuturu has an antibacterial potential that could be used in future applications in aquaculture. thus, g. Turuturu could be applied to breeding of abalone extract as water treatment, in the form of artificial food or co-cultivation of an integrated system with haliotis tuberculata, thanks to its antibacterial properties against vibrio harveyi. It would be interesting also to deepen the characterization of the metabolite manager this antibacterial activity and once identified, purified in order to characterize their chemical nature and to eventually improve their level of antibiotic activity.
