Ach. Es un ascoliquen ep\u00edfito de tipo fruticuloso con una amplia distribuci\u00f3n geogr\u00e1fica, en el que coexisten los mismos dos ficobiontes (provisionalmente: trebouxia sp. Tr1 y trebouxia sp. Tr9) predominando uno u otro dependiendo del \u00e1rea geogr\u00e1fica. En este trabajo se plantea la hip\u00f3tesis de que la asociaci\u00f3n selectiva de ramalina farinacea con tr1 y tr9 podr\u00eda determinar su capacidad para colonizar ambientes muy diversos. Esta hip\u00f3tesis podr\u00eda explicarse en base a que cada uno de los ficobiontes tuviera comportamientos diferentes frente a condiciones ambientales m\u00e1s o menos estresantes.La presente memoria de tesis doctoral describe los estudios comparativos de las respuestas fisiol\u00f3gicas y mecanismos celulares presentes en los ficobiontes tr1 y tr9, que les permiten hacer frente a situaciones de estr\u00e9s oxidativo. Se analizaron las respuestas a dos grados diferentes de estr\u00e9s oxidativo: (i) estr\u00e9s agudo inducido por el agente pro-oxidante hidroper\u00f3xido de cumeno; (ii) estr\u00e9s sub-agudo o cr\u00f3nico generado por la presencia de metales pesados plomo (pb) y cadmio (cd) y por la rehidrataci\u00f3n en presencia de pb. En conjunto los resultados obtenidos sugieren que trebouxia sp. Tr1 y tr9 representan dos modelos diferentes de respuesta frente a condiciones ambientales estresantes. Tr1 parece tener un sistema de defensa constitutivamente muy activo y responde al patr\u00f3n cl\u00e1sico de organismo poiquiloh\u00eddrico. Tr9, en cambio, est\u00e1 protegida por una barrera exterior m\u00e1s potente que le permite mantener un sistema defensivo constitutivamente menos activo, el cual puede ser inducido bajo condiciones de estr\u00e9s. Por otra parte, estudios previos indican la predominancia de uno u otro ficobionte dependiendo del \u00e1rea geogr\u00e1fica.
