Resumen en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os se ha producido un incremento del fen\u00f3meno del voluntariado. De la mano de este incremento, tambi\u00e9n aparece uno de los principales problemas a los que se enfrentan las entidades de voluntariado, el abandono de los voluntarios. La cada vez m\u00e1s escasa permanencia de los voluntarios pone en jaque a las organizaciones, vi\u00e9ndose obligadas a dar respuesta a un fen\u00f3meno que puede perjudicarlas enormemente, ya que muchas de ellas necesitan el apoyo de los voluntarios para seguir adelante. Todo esto da muestra de la importancia en t\u00e9rminos sociales y econ\u00f3micos que ha alcanzado el voluntariado en espa\u00f1a. sin embargo, esta realidad contrasta con la escasez de conocimiento cient\u00edfico sobre voluntariado. Pese a los avances acad\u00e9micos de los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os y el inter\u00e9s de las entidades por la gesti\u00f3n o incluso las buenas pr\u00e1cticas, existe poca informaci\u00f3n sobre voluntariado y se sigue encontrando una escasez de estudios, tanto emp\u00edricos como cualitativos. una de las tendencias m\u00e1s importantes del voluntariado actual son las personas mayores voluntarias. El sector de poblaci\u00f3n de 65 a\u00f1os o m\u00e1s experimenta un crecimiento constante debido mayoritariamente al aumento de la esperanza de vida y a la ca\u00edda de la natalidad. pero \u00c2\u00bfqu\u00e9 sabemos sobre las personas mayores voluntarias? En realidad muy poco. Pese a alzarse como uno de los colectivos m\u00e1s prometedores del voluntariado y como un potencial recurso para las entidades, los estudios realizados sobre personas mayores voluntarias son escasos si aspiramos a conocer de qu\u00e9 depende que las personas mayores contin\u00faen su labor voluntaria es imprescindible relacionar dicha intenci\u00f3n de permanencia con los niveles de satisfacci\u00f3n que tienen. ya no es suficiente que el voluntario realice una serie de actividades que redunden en el beneficio de la entidad o en las situaciones de necesidad de las personas que atiende, sino que adem\u00e1s, el voluntario quiere que su actividad le aporte ciertas cosas. Ser\u00e1 imprescindible que el voluntario, en este caso, mayor, vea satisfechas las expectativas que le motivaron a iniciar su actividad voluntaria y la organizaci\u00f3n, a trav\u00e9s de los mecanismos de gesti\u00f3n, ser\u00e1 la encargada de velar por el cumplimiento de las tareas, las labores de supervisi\u00f3n y formaci\u00f3n, acompa\u00f1amiento, etc. Lo que sin duda revertir\u00e1 en niveles mayores de satisfacci\u00f3n. si alcanzamos niveles elevados de satisfacci\u00f3n y los preservamos, se conseguir\u00e1 a priori, que los voluntarios no deseen abandonar la organizaci\u00f3n. objetivos con todo ello, nos planteamos como objetivo principal del estudio analizar los factores que explican la satisfacci\u00f3n e intenci\u00f3n de permanencia de las personas mayores que realizan labores de voluntariado socioasistenciales. Particularmente, planteamos como objetivos espec\u00edficos del estudio: –\tdefinir el perfil de las personas mayores voluntarias en funci\u00f3n de nuestra muestra. –\tanalizar la influencia del apoyo social en la satisfacci\u00f3n de los voluntarios mayores. –\tcomprobar el papel de la gesti\u00f3n del voluntariado en la satisfacci\u00f3n de los voluntarios. –\testudiar c\u00f3mo la satisfacci\u00f3n de los voluntarios determina su intenci\u00f3n de permanencia. –\testudiar c\u00f3mo el apoyo que la organizaci\u00f3n proporciona a los voluntarios afecta a la satisfacci\u00f3n. –\tcomprobar el papel que tiene la satisfacci\u00f3n de las tareas en la satisfacci\u00f3n de las motivaciones –\tc\u00f3mo afecta el grado de preparaci\u00f3n y la supervisi\u00f3n a la satisfacci\u00f3n con las tareas realizadas. metodolog\u00eda para tal fin llevamos a cabo un an\u00e1lisis emp\u00edrico sobre una muestra de 172 voluntarios mayores de 60 a\u00f1os, mediante un an\u00e1lisis de ecuaciones estructurales para comprobar las hip\u00f3tesis planteadas. resultados los resultados han permitido demostrar el efecto positivo que produce la satisfacci\u00f3n con los mecanismos de gesti\u00f3n que posee la organizaci\u00f3n sobre la intenci\u00f3n de permanencia de los voluntarios. Igualmente destacar el papel que ejerce el grado de preparaci\u00f3n y supervisi\u00f3n en la satisfacci\u00f3n de las tareas. Asimismo se ha comprobado como la satisfacci\u00f3n de las tareas influye positivamente en la satisfacci\u00f3n de las motivaciones de los voluntarios. Y por otro lado, los resultados prueban la influencia que ejerce el apoyo proporcionado por la organizaci\u00f3n sobre la satisfacci\u00f3n con los mecanismos de gesti\u00f3n. abstract volunteering phenomena has increased their presence during last years. Nonetheless, this rise has been accompanied by one of their major problems, the volunteers' abandonment. The organisations face shorter and shorter period of volunteers' activity. They have to address this problem that can be harmful to their continuity. This highlight the social and economic relevance volunteering has become in spain. nevertheless, this reality contrasts with a lack of scientific knowledge about volunteering. Despite of the academic developments of last years and the interest of organisations on its management and good practices, there is little information about volunteering. There is still a lack of studies, either empiric or qualitative, addressing this topic. one of the hot topic these days regarding volunteering is elderly volunteers. The population segment of people older than 65 is experiencing a continuous growth mainly due to life expectancy rise and birth rate decrease. however, what do we know about elderly volunteers? Actually, not too much. Despite of being one of the more promising collectives of volunteering and a great resource for organisations, there is a scarce of studies of volunteering of elderly persons. in order to deep on the factors that make elderly volunteers to keep on their volunteer work, it is essential to relate their intention to continue with their levels of satisfaction. it is already not enough for the volunteers to do a series of activities for the benefit of the entities o the people assisted, but also the volunteer look for others things that their activity offers. It will be necessary then that the elderly volunteers satisfy their expectations about the motivations that made them enrol in this activity. The organisation will be responsible on displaying the necessary management mechanisms to fulfil their expectations and enhance their satisfaction. If high levels of satisfaction are reached and kept, the organisations will improve the period that volunteers stay in the labour. objectives the main objective of the dissertation is to analyse the factors that explain the satisfaction and intention to continue of elderly volunteers on social assistance labours. Particularly, we pose the following specific objectives: –\tto define the elderly volunteers' profile of the sample. –\tto analyse the influence of the social support on the elderly volunteers' satisfaction. –\tto examine the role of volunteers' management on their satisfaction. –\tto study how volunteers' satisfaction explain their intention to continue in the organisation. –\tto investigate how the organisation's support to the elderly volunteers affects their satisfaction. –\tto test the role of the elderly volunteers' satisfaction with their tasks can explain their motivations' satisfaction. –\tto research the influence of the elderly volunteers' training level and the monitoring on their satisfaction with their tasks. methodology in order to achieve the established objectives, we conducted an empirical analysis on a sample of 172 elderly volunteers' older than 60. A structural equation model is developed to test research hypotheses. results the results has allowed us to see the positive effect of the satisfaction with the management mechanisms that the organisation displays on the elderly volunteers' intention to continue. Likewise, the results has proven the positive effect of the training level and monitoring with the satisfaction with their tasks. As well, we have demonstrated how the satisfaction with their tasks increases the volunteers' satisfaction of their motivations. Similarly, the organisation support to the volunteers has shown to enhance their satisfaction with the management mechanisms.<\/p>\n
