Para acercarnos a una posible objetiva respuesta, hemos mirado y buscado en los escritos del propio artista y en los de aquellos que, de una u otra forma, convivieron con su persona o con su pensamiento, refiri\u00e9ndolos siempre a sus cuadros o a sus ensayos, art\u00edculos y poes\u00edas. Para hacer m\u00e1s digerible el trabajo, lo hemos dividido en varios cap\u00edtulos que, siguiendo siempre el orden cronol\u00f3gico, incluyen un apunte biogr\u00e1fico de ram\u00f3n gaya (cap\u00edtulo i), un repaso y estudio de su obra pict\u00f3rica (cap\u00edtulo ii), un detenido estudio, con extractos elegidos, de su obra ensay\u00edstica (cap\u00edtulo iii), y una lectura apasionada de su obra po\u00e9tica (art\u00edculo iv), todo ello enmarcado entre una introducci\u00f3n y unas conclusiones.                    el trabajo aqu\u00ed presentado est\u00e1, pues, referido a un artista murciano que ha sabido legar a su tiempo y a su &quot;tan finamente polvorienta y desva\u00edda&quot; ciudad una obra ingente que constituye un manantial inagotable para acercarse a entender el misterio de la creaci\u00f3n art\u00edstica. Gaya fue un hombre excepcional que, a pesar de lo &quot;entrecortado&quot; de su azarosa vida, siempre llev\u00f3 en su equipaje &quot;la esencialidad del mundo&quot;.                                                   acknowledging ram\u00f3n gaya&apos;s status as that of a practically unknown artist, despite his extensive legacy of paintings and writings, i wish to present a clear, albeit brief example of his unrivalled work and take as a starting point the eternally unanswered question regarding whether ram\u00f3n gaya is a better painter than writer or, contrariwise, a better writer than painter. In search of an objective answer i have scoured the writings not only by the artist himself but by those who, in one way or another, lived with his person or his thought, but with constant reference to his paintings or to his essays, articles and poetry. To make the task more palatable i have divided it into various chapters, which include, in chronological order, a biographical sketch of ram\u00f3n gaya (chapter i), a review and study of his pictorial work (chapter ii), an in-depth study, with selected extracts, of his essay work (chapter iii) and a passionate look at his poetic work (chapter iv), all this preceded by an introduction and signed off with some conclusions. \tthe present work is thus the portrait of a murcian artist who has bequeathed to his time and to his &quot;faintly dusty and lacklustre&quot; city a colossal legacy, a wellspring of oeuvre to help us better understand the mystery of artistic creation.
