For that purpose, we will first analyze classical correlations derived from the existence of lorentzian tunnels, possessing closed timelike curves, that connect different regions or universes. We will seek an observational trace which is unambiguously characteristic of these connections and which provides us not only with a way to check the existence of these objects within the current observations in astrophysics and cosmology, but, furthermore, the existence of other universes which are connected with ours. in order to study the quantum correlations between these different regions or universes, we will consider both, an approximate study by means of simple models of the universes in the muliverse and a very detailed study of a single universe with different regions classically disconnected. These different viewpoints allow us to face the problem from opposite sides. On one hand, we will analyze the models in a third quantization formalism in which we will see the effects of the multiverse in our universe, such as decoherence mechanisms, reduction of the theoretical value of the cosmological constant of collective phenomena that in general indicate the necessity of consider the whole multiverse in order to preserve the unitarity of the system and to understand the physical predictions. On the other hand, we will analyze the exact quantization of a simple model in which there are disconnected regions and that allows us to study in detail the appearance of correlations. The analysis carried out will prove that each of the studied spacetime regions is inconsistent when considered apart, and hence we should not restrict the observables of the system to one of these single regions.
