Resumen  durante las \u00faltimas d\u00e9cadas la exposici\u00f3n solar ha sufrido un aumento considerable, sobre todo la recreativa o intermitente, por lo que el fotoenvejecimiento afecta tambi\u00e9n a j\u00f3venes que se exponen al sol sin protecci\u00f3n o a fuentes ultravioleta artificiales para el bronceado r\u00e1pido (camacho, 2001), de ah\u00ed, la inversi\u00f3n millonaria que se realiza en occidente en investigaci\u00f3n de sustancias que eviten o retrasen los efectos del fotoenvejecimiento, tanto por est\u00e9tica como por el coste econ\u00f3mico del tratamiento de las lesiones. En los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os, los aceites esenciales han suscitado gran inter\u00e9s debido a su capacidad antioxidante, que podr\u00eda interferir en los mecanismos del fotoenvejecimiento, evitando la formaci\u00f3n de radicales libres y potenciando el subsistema inmunol\u00f3gico cut\u00e1neo (siegel, 2012).  en nuestro trabajo hemos ensayado tres extractos procedentes del capullo del gusano de la seda: fibro\u00edna, sericina e hidrolizado para conocer sus efectos &quot;in vitro&quot;:  a)\tcitot\u00f3xicos (viabilidad y proliferaci\u00f3n celular) sobre las l\u00edneas celulares: vero, tramp-c1 y hacat. b)\tgenot\u00f3xico y genoprotector sobre sangre total humana. c)\tsobre la migraci\u00f3n celular y protecci\u00f3n frente a la radiaci\u00f3n ultravioleta b en la l\u00ednea celular hacat.    en los ensayos de citotoxicidad sobre las c\u00e9lulas vero, ni la fibro\u00edna ni el hidrolizado de seda fueron citot\u00f3xicos, mientras que la sericina provoc\u00f3 una disminuci\u00f3n de la viabilidad celular dosis-respuesta significativa, moderadamente citot\u00f3xica. Las c\u00e9lulas tramp-c1 mostraron valores de viabilidad celular a las 24 y 48 horas muy pr\u00f3ximos a los controles (casi del 100%) por lo qu\u00e9 ninguno de los extractos: fibro\u00edna, sericina e hidrolizado de seda presentaron acci\u00f3n anticancerosa sobre la l\u00ednea celular tramp-c1 a las concentraciones estudiadas.El objetivo del ensayo de citotoxicidad para las c\u00e9lulas hacat fue ajustar las dosis de los extractos para poder utilizar la m\u00e1xima concentraci\u00f3n que admitiera el cultivo sin que afectara a su viabilidad y poder llegar hasta ese punto con el ensayo de fotoprotecci\u00f3n y migraci\u00f3n.    la fibro\u00edna no fue citot\u00f3xica hasta 0,1%, a partir del cual mostr\u00f3 cierto efecto citot\u00f3xico estad\u00edsticamente significativo dependiente de la dosis. La sericina result\u00f3 m\u00e1s citot\u00f3xica como tambi\u00e9n constatamos sobre la l\u00ednea vero. Este efecto comenz\u00f3 a hacerse evidente con las concentraciones m\u00e1s bajas (0,05 y 0,1), alcanzando la ic 50 de forma temprana en 0,22% a las 24 horas y 0,16% a las 48 horas. El efecto negativo dosis-respuesta sobre el cultivo fue estad\u00edsticamente significativo a partir del 0,05%. El hidrolizado de seda mostr\u00f3 mejor comportamiento respecto a la viabilidad de estas c\u00e9lulas, con valores pr\u00f3ximos e incluso superiores al 100% (control) en todas las concentraciones estudiadas a 24 y 48 horas. Por lo que el hidrolizado de seda no afecta a la viabilidad celular de esta l\u00ednea.       en el ensayo de genotoxicidad, no exist\u00edan diferencias estad\u00edsticamente significativas en el n\u00famero de micron\u00facleos por 500 cb en las muestras tratadas con los tres extractos respecto a las controles. En el ensayo de genoprotecci\u00f3n, observamos disminuci\u00f3n de mn\/500 cb cuando se administraban los tratamientos (fibro\u00edna, sericina e hidrolizado de seda) previamente a la irradiaci\u00f3n aunque ninguno mostr\u00f3 disminuci\u00f3n estad\u00edsticamente significativa respecto al control irradiado. Por lo que parece existir tendencia a la protecci\u00f3n frente al da\u00f1o producido por la radiaci\u00f3n x. En cuanto a la migraci\u00f3n celular, el hidrolizado de seda no mostr\u00f3  diferencias estad\u00edsticamente significativas a las concentraciones estudiadas (0&apos;01 y 0&apos;1 %) en relaci\u00f3n a  la migraci\u00f3n de las c\u00e9lulas hacat.   el estudio de fotoprotecci\u00f3n present\u00f3 resultados significativos (p &lt; 0&apos;001) para el hidrolizado y la fibro\u00edna, resaltando el importante incremento de la viabilidad celular a las 24 y 48 horas causado por el hidrolizado de seda a las concentraciones 0,001; 0,01; 0,05 y 0,1, y la m\u00ednima intensidad de radiaci\u00f3n ultravioleta (0,08 j\/cm2), lo que consideramos de gran relevancia cl\u00ednica por la facilidad de incorporaci\u00f3n de una dosis tan baja de hidrolizado de seda a un producto fotoprotector.    i. Summary  in the last decades the sun exposition, specially recreative or intermitent, has led to a tremendous increase in skin cancer. Photo-aging also affects young people who have exposed to the sun or artificial uv sources without protection (camacho, 2001). For that reason, the occidental countries have made a millonair inversion in research studies on substancies to avoid or delay the photo-aging effects. During the last years, the esential oils have aroused great interest because of their antioxidant capacity, which could affect on photodamage mecanism, avoiding the free radycals formation and enhancing the cutaneous inmune subsystem (siegel, 2012).  ii. Objetives  general objective  the main objective of this thesis was to compare three extracts from silkworm: fibroin, sericin and silk hidrolyzate in order to know their &quot;in vitro&quot; effects:  a)\tcytotoxic (viability and celular proliferation) on celular lines: vero, tramp-c1 and hacat. b)\tgenotoxic and genoprotective on total human blood. c)\tcelular migration and protecction against ultravioleta b radiaton on celular line hacat.  specific objectives  1\u00c2\u00ba. To evaluate the cocoon of silkworm efectts: fibroin, sericin and silk hidrolyzate upon proliferation and citotoxicity of celular lines: tramp-c1 y hacat.  2\u00c2\u00ba. To study the genotoxic and genoprotective silkworm extracts over total human blood.  3\u00c2\u00ba. To identify the activity of silkworm extracts upon celular migration in hacat line.  4\u00c2\u00ba. To analyze, in hacat line, the silkworm extracts protective effects against ultraviolet b radiation.   iii. Results neither fibroin or silk hydrolyzate were citotoxic upon vero celular line trial, while sericine caused a significant disminution celular dose-response, moderately citotoxic. Fibroin was not citotoxic until 0,1%, after that concentration it showed a light dose-dependent citotoxic effect statistically significant. Sericine was more citotoxic over vero celular line. This effect was more evident with lower concentrations (0.05 y 0.1), with sooner ic 50 on 0.22% at 24h and 0.16% at 48h. The negative dose-response effect over the cultive was estatistically significant from 0,05%. The silk hydrolyzate showed a better response respect these cells viability, with values closer or higher to 100% (control) in all the studied concentrations within 24 and 48 hours. So the silk hydrolyzate does not affect this celular line&apos;s viability. the tramp-c1 cells showed celular viability values within 24 and 48 hours closer to control (near 100%) so no one of the extracts: fibroin, sericin and silk hydrolyzate showed anticancer action over tramp-c1 celular line in studied concentrations. in the genotoxicity trial, did not exist statistically significant differences in the number of mn\/500 cb in the samples treated with the three agents respect to the control. In the genoprotection trial, a disminution of mn\/500 cb was observed when treatments (fibroin, sericin and silk hidrolyzate) were administrated previously to the irradiation although no one showed a statistically significant disminution respect the irradiated control. So there seems to be a protection against x radiation. As regard the celular migration, the sylk hydrolyzate did not show statistically significant differences in studied concentrations (0.01 y 0.1 %) related with migration of celular line hacat.  the photoprotection study showed significant results (p &lt; 0.001) for the silk hydrolyzate and fibroin, with an important cellular viability increase within 24 y 48 hours caused by the hydrolyzate 0.001, 0.01, 0.05 and 0.1 concentrations and the ultraviolet minimun intensity radiation (0.08 j\/cm2).
