This will allow to make a systematic use through the statistics service, and extract the total sample of 599 students of immigrant origin in 100 secondary schools. the data analyzed are language and mathematics results, country of origin, school dropout rate, educational promotion, gender, and its evolution over the years of compulsory and upper secondary education, distinguishing those who have been born in their origin country from those born in spain. Concurrently, a control group of 663 spanish students, from five of those schools, has been considered the general aim of this research is to analyze and assess the educational performance of immigrant students in secondary education in the region of murcia in the subjects of language and mathematics, from year 2007-2008 , first entry into the compulsory secondary education (1ºcurso e.S.O., Educación secundaria obligatoria ) to 2012-2013 , last year in high school ( 2º curso de bachillerato). Some specific aims have been set in order to give answer to the main purpose or this research: 1. To know the distribution of immigrant origin students among the different types of school in the region of murcia, according to its gender and origin. 2. To analyze schooling of immigrant students from 2007/2008 year to 2012/2013. 3. To know the evolution of school dropout rate between immigrant origin students. 4. To examine suitability rates of immigrant origin students. 4 5. To have knowledge of school performance, in language and mathematics of students of immigrant origin, by geographical area of origin, in 1st and 4th year of eso and 2nd bachillerato. 6. To analyze the promotion of pupils from immigrant backgrounds, for generations 7. To compare the results in language and mathematics by native students with those achieved by students of immigrant origin. 8. To compare the suitability and final qualification between native students and students of immigrant origin. 9. To assess the impact of specific educational measures the academic performance of students of immigrant origin. the results of the study and data analysis conclude that the percentage of graduates in eso in 2010/11 in spain was 74.3%, in the region of murcia 72%, the control group of native spaniards 64% and 28% students of immigrant origin. To that evidence must be added the fact that the results of students with immigrant background "second generation" do worse than those who arrived late from their home countries, despite their lack of knowledge of spanish, their gap school, their precarious previous schooling and culture shock. the school success of students from immigrant backgrounds studied is 55% less than that of native spanish students in the same school, and also the results of children of immigrants born in spain are worse. This fact must be subjected to profound reflections on the role of education and the intercultural in today's society.

Datos académicos de la tesis doctoral
