En la antig\u00ed\u00bcedad cl\u00e1sica, ya se conoc\u00edan las propiedades terap\u00e9uticas del arte y los beneficios de su pr\u00e1ctica en el equilibrio general del ser humano.A lo largo de la historia del arte contamos con numerosos ejemplos de artistas que ante situaciones l\u00edmites, enfermedades o tr\u00e1gicos accidentes, han utilizado el arte como medio catalizador de sus males. Se ha elaborado un estudio de la vida y obra de destacados artistas de todos los tiempos, centr\u00e1ndonos principalmente en pintores.En la mayor\u00eda de los artistas estudiados, podemos encontrar evidencias suficientes de la reciproca causalidad entre enfermedad y arte, as\u00ed como se\u00f1ales de una mutua retroalimentaci\u00f3n entre ambos.Tambi\u00e9n se ha realizado una revisi\u00f3n bibliogr\u00e1fica de los fundamentos te\u00f3ricos del trabajo arte-terap\u00e9utico con enfermos de diferentes patolog\u00edas, as\u00ed como de todas las experiencias pr\u00e1cticas que hasta el momento se est\u00e1n realizando en centros sanitarios de nuestro pa\u00eds y del resto del mundo. Desde la intervenci\u00f3n enfermera que en la nic (nursing interventions classification), viene denominada como: \u00c2\u00bfarteterapia\u00c2\u00bf.  Los profesionales de enfermer\u00eda pueden y deben utilizar el  est\u00edmulo del arte, buscando la  eficiencia  en  el manejo de situaciones de salud  a trav\u00e9s  del  control  de  las  respuestas  que  generan  los  est\u00edmulos  en las diferentes formas de arte,  entendiendo  que  el  cuidado enfermero requiere de un acercamiento o una aproximaci\u00f3n entre el fen\u00f3meno art\u00edstico y la disciplina enfermera en beneficio de la salud, del bienestar y de la calidad de vida de los pacientes y de las personas en general. Summary.-With this thesis we intend to demonstrate the need of the integration of the art in the nursing care in order to promote individual growth and achieve an improvement in the outcomes of the main health-related activities, supplementing the treatments of various diseases or conditions.\tSince ancient times, the art has been linked to the promotion and healing. In the classical old days, the therapeutic properties of the art and the benefits of its practice over the humans balance were already known.Throughout the history of the art, there are a number of examples of artists that in tough situations, organic diseases or tragic accidents, they used the art to catalyst their problems. A study of the life and works of prominent artists of all time has been made, focusing mainly on painters.In most of the artists that have been studied, we can find a number of evidences of the causality between illness and art in both ways, as well as signals of the feedback between both of them.It has also carried out a literature review of the theoretical basis of art &#8211; therapeutic work with patients with different diseases, as well as all the practical experience that have been made so far in health centers in our country and around the world.From the nurse intervention which in the nic (nursing interventions classification) is named as \u00c2\u00bfart therapy\u00c2\u00bf, the nursing workers can and must use the encouragement of the art, looking for the efficiency in the handle of the health situations through the control of the answers of those stimulus in different kinds of art. It is understood that nursing care has the need of the approach between the art and the nursing discipline in order to benefit the health, wellbeing and quality of life of patients and people in general.
