Se centra el final de esta revision sobre la accion del o sub 2 sobre cetonas. Se comprueba que el estudio  hasta ahora realizado  sobreel comportamiento del o sub 2 frente a cetonas aisladas es escaso y contradictorio; lo que justifica el estudio emprendido en esta tesis: determinarel comportamiento de distintos sustratos esteroidales con el grupo cetonico en las posiciones c-3  c-6  c-12  c-17  c-20 y c-23  frente al o sub 2. De este estudio se concluye que  excepto en el sustrato donde el grupo ceto esta en c-6 (en que hay hidroxilacion en alfa)  los productos mayoritarios obtenidos provienen de una ruptura oxidativa con perdida de un atomo de carbono del sustrato.
