Estos trabajos se han llevado a cabo en dos sistemas experimentales: uno in vitro y otro in vivo.  en los estudio con tratamientos cr\u00f3nicos in vivo, se aislaban las membranas plasm\u00e1ticas sin\u00e1pticas de los cerebelos de animales tratados cr\u00f3nicamente con un analogo no hidrolizable de la adenosina el r-pia y las mismas membranas procedentes de animales controles. Estas membranas se utilizaron en ensayos de uni\u00f3n con agonista y antagonistas tritiados, se midi\u00f3 la actividad adenilato ciclasa y tambi\u00e9n se estudio el efecto del tratamiento con r-pia sobre las prote\u00ednas g.  los estudios en vitro se llevaron a cabo en cultivos primarios de c\u00e9lulas granulares. Y en estos, se hicieron tambi\u00e9n ensayos de uni\u00f3n con antagonistas a1, y medida de los mrna para los receptores de adnosina. Adem\u00e1s, se realizaron medidas del calcio citos\u00f3lico libre con sondas fluorescentes fura 2 con la idea de relacionar la se\u00f1al de adenosina y este segundo mensajero intracelular.  como conclusiones de mayor relieve son destacables: que el tratamiento cr\u00f3ncio con r-pia produce una desensibilizaci\u00f3n, que afecta a los niveles de prote\u00ednas g y prodece un efecto de up regulation de los receptores. por \u00faltimo, la se\u00f1al de adenosina est\u00e1 relacionda con los niveles de ca2+ citos\u00f3lico libre y en las c\u00e9lulas granulares cerebelares se expresan
