Aunque ninguno de los que reunen en grado suficiente las cualidades analiticas para esta finalidad supera al azul de metileno en sensibilidad  sin embargo en el caso del anaranjado de acridina (c.I. 46005) la precision y reproducibilidad de los resultados son mejores que con el colorante fenotiazinico. Los resultados obtenidos en la aplicacion de la tecnica que proponemos con anaranjado de acridina a la determinacion de tensioactivos anionicos en aguas residuales y de mar demuestran la ventaja de ella sobre el metodo oficial en u.K.
