Se realiza un previo estudio de la etapa de reaccion del proceso propuesto  observando la conveniencia de realizar separadamente las dos partes fundamentales de que consta: hidrolisis de las pentosanas presentes en la cascara y posterior deshidratacion de las pentosas a furfural. Se propone un modelo cinetico para la etapa de hidrolisis que tiene en cuenta 2 tipos de pentosanas y que interpreta correctamente los resultados experimentales. En la etapa de deshidratacion se constata la intervencion de reacciones simultaneas que ejercen una considerable influencia en la selectividad de dicha etapa siendo preciso optimizar las condiciones
