El dominio n-terminal interacciona con el dna y no presenta ningun efecto sobre la superestructura del dna. El dominio central de la molecula de hmg1 y hmg2 interacciona fuertemente con el dna y es la zona de la molecula que ejerce los efectos de superhelicidad sobre el dna. La zona c-terminal interacciona con la histona h1. La zona central y c-terminal unidas covalentemente  en ausencia de la region n-terminal no interacciona con el dna ni presenta efectos sobre la superhelicidad del dna. Mediante estudios de espectroscopia de rmn y dc se demuestra que los dominios n-terminal y central de la molecula tienen estructuraglobular. Esta estructura en el dominio central se pierde  cuando la region n-terminal de la molecula esta ausente. Este efecto de desestructuracion sobre el dominio central de la molecula lo lleva a cabo el dominio c-terminal.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
