Dicho inhibidor es una proteina-quinasa  independiente de amp ciclico que fosforila especificamente la subunidad menor del factor de iniciacion eif-2 se trata de la misma eif-2 quinasa que se activa en los lisados en ausencia de hemina (hci) si bien los mecanismos de activacionen cada caso son distintos e independientes. El proinhibidor es una molecula inestable  que tiende a oxidarse de forma espontanea lo que origina su activacion. Se requiere la participacion de un sistema enzimatico (probablemente el de la tiorredoxina) que mantiene el proinhibidor en estado reducido utilizando nadph como cofactor especifico. El efecto del gssg es indirecto y debido al consumo  en su reduccion a gsh  del nadph endogeno requerido para mantener la eif-2 quinasa en su forma inactiva.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos
