Se ha estudiado la influencia de los parametros internos y externos del dispositivo y se ha establecido una formula general de las ecuaciones de funcionamiento. Se han establecido dos modelos matematicos  uno en regimen estacionario y otro en regimen transitorio que permiten analizar y predecir los procesos de transporte de masa y calor en el mismo. Se propone una nueva expresion del rendimiento valida para cualquier tipo de destilador solar y se ha estimado la produccion de agua destilada que puede obtener con un destilador solar esferico de
