En este mutante  s.  cerevisiae l2c16b  el gen afectado es unico y se denomino lyt1. Mediante tratamiento mutagenico con radiacion ultravioleta de este mutante se obtuvieron nuevos mutantes en los que se habia suprimido el fenotipo autolitico. El analisis genetico de estos mutantes demostro que esta segunda mutacion afecta en todas las estirpes aisladas al mismo gen (slyt 1); se estudiaron las consecuencias que la mutacion slyt 1 tiene en el crecimiento  citolog\u00eda y fisiolog\u00eda de la celula portadora de dicha mutacion.
