Se utilizaron vesiculas fosfolipidicas (liposomas) como modelo de membrana y se emplearon varias tecnicas fisicas para estudiar la localizacion y el funcionamiento del coq mostrandose que el coq se localiza principalmente en la region central de la bicapa lipidica donde actua como transportador de protones y electrones  presentando un papel funcional dinamico dependiente del estado fisico de la membrana. Se ha mostrado que el alfa-tocoferol principal componente de la vitamina e  molecula de gran importancia biologica como antioxidante y estabilizadora de la membrana  se situa en las monocapas en una disposicion de cola fitilica a cola fitilica con el grupo hidroxilo cercano a la region polar de la cabeza de los fosfolipidos. Y finalmente mostramos que el ionoforolasalocido a  de uso generalizado en biolog\u00eda experimental  presenta una solubilidad limitada en membranas fosfolipidicas  a partir de la cual forma fases
