El acetilderivado al\u00edlico necesario para realizar el reordenamiento de labdanos a isofregenedanos, se sintetiza en cinco pasos desde sclareol, con buen rendimiento global. La epoxidacion asimetrica de sharpless permite realizar la sintesis de las dos enanti\u00f3meros de acido chris\u00f3lico, corroborando la estructrua del producto natural y estableciendo la configuracion 13r para el (-) acido chris\u00f3lico natural. La misma metodolog\u00eda se utiliz\u00f3 para corroborar la estructura de isofregenedol y establecer la configuraci\u00f3n absoluta del producto natural como 13s. Se ha abierto una nueva via de obtenci\u00f3n de analogos de retinoides. En algunos de ellos, se ha sintetizado un sistema espiranico en el anillo a y en otros se han modificado sus separadores con diferentes \u00e1cidos alif\u00e1ticos o arom\u00e1ticos. Se ha realizado un estudio para la transformaci\u00f3n de sclareol (labdano) en compuestos con sistemas tric\u00edclicos de esqueleto pimarano.
