El primero se basa en la reaccion del correspondiente 1-alcoxi-2-nitroalqueno con aminas y el segundo en la reaccion de transaminacion entre un1-amino-2-nitroalqueno facilmente asequible y la amina adecuada. Los 1-arilamino-2-nitroalquenos obtenidos por estos procedimientos son transformables por reduccion  con hidrogeno en presencia de carbon-paladio como catalizador y  un ortoester como agente formilante  en 1-arilimidazoles  siendo este un metodo de sintesis nuevo para la obtencion de estos compuestos. Los n-(2-nitrovinilamino) derivados de las 2-amino(o alquilamino-)-2-desoxi-d-glucosas y  1-amino(o alquiloarilamino-)-1-desoxi-d-arabino-hexulosas se transforman en 5 (o 4-)-(d-arabino-tetritol-1-il)-3-nitropirroles a traves de una condensacion aldehido-enamina intramolecular. Este es un procedimiento nuevo para obtener (alditol-1-il)-nitropirroles  compuestos de gran interes tanto desde un punto  de vista quimico como farmacologico.
