As\u00ed, se plantearon 2 experimentos con ovejas lecheras lacaune (lc) y manchega (mn) gestantes (experimento 1) y lactantes (experimento 2), para comparar entre la ingesti\u00f3n de ms (msi), la digestibilidad aparente, la cin\u00e9tica de tr\u00e1nsito y el contenido digestivo, con el fin de explicar las posibles diferencias de ingesti\u00f3n voluntaria de alimento. en el experimento 1, 10 ovejas mn y 10 lc gestantes simples, se estabularon permanentemente durante las \u00faltimas 10 semanas de gestaci\u00f3n. La raci\u00f3n consisti\u00f3 en heno de alfalfa ad libitum, suplementado con 0.3 kg\/d de concentrado. la msi y ms digestible fueron superiores en las ovejas lc que en las mn. la raza no afect\u00f3 a la digestibilidad aparente, ni a la cin\u00e9tica de tr\u00e1nsito ni al contenido del tracto digestivo.  los cambios de peso vivo (pv) y condici\u00f3n corporal (cc) fueron similares. por el contrario, los corderos de raza  lc tendieron (p=0,09) a pesar menos que los de raza mn, lo que sugiere diferencias gen\u00e9ticas entre razas en la utilizaci\u00f3n de la energ\u00eda al final de la gestaci\u00f3n. La mayor ingesti\u00f3n de ms observada en las ovejas lc podr\u00eda estar relacionada con la mayor demanda energ\u00e9tica para el desarrollo de la gl\u00e1ndula mamaria.  en el experimento 2, 16 ovejas mn y 16 lc, multiparas lactantes, se estabularon permanentemente durante las 12 primeras semanas de lactaci\u00f3n. La raci\u00f3n experimental consisti\u00f3 en una mezcla de ensilado de ma\u00edz y alfalfa deshidratada (en una proporci\u00f3n 10:1 sobre materia fresca), ad libitum, y suplementada con 0.8 kg\/d de concentrado. La producci\u00f3n de leche, el contenido de grasa y prote\u00edna, as\u00ed como la msi y ms digestible fueron superiores en las ovejas lc que en las mn. Al avanzar la lactaci\u00f3n la mso se mantuvo constante en las ovejas lc, mientras que en las mn disminuy\u00f3.
