Xvi. Su protagonismo como moderador del debate artistico europeo del s. Xvi  determino su definicion gramatical expresada en el predominio del ornato.  desde esta opcion historiografica  la observacion de la problematica manierista en el ambito mallorquin viene caracterizada por su tardia recepcion y por la ausencia de una fase de consolidacion propiamente renacentista provocando un discurso de caracter ornamental  mimetico e irreflexivo  de desigual incidencia en las diferentes artes plasticas  que alcanzo su mayor nivel de articulacion enla arquitectura de fachadas durante las dos primeras decadas del s.
