El programa consisti\u00f3 en 12 sesiones semanales consecutivas de 2 horas de duraci\u00f3n. La metodolog\u00eda estuvo basada en el modelo de intervenci\u00f3n basado en la competencia y en una concepci\u00f3n constructivista del aprendizaje. el programa, de car\u00e1cter biopsicosocial incluly\u00f3 los siguientes elementos: cambios biol\u00f3gicos, contexto psicosocial y cultural del climaterio, autocuidados, controles m\u00e9dicos, terapia de sustituci\u00f3n hormonal, roles y distribuci\u00f3n de tareas, autoestima, caricias psicol\u00f3gicas, sentimientos, comunicaci\u00f3n, hombres y mujeres y relaci\u00f3n de pareja y sexualidad.  resultados  mejoraron significativamente (p=0,000) todos los instrumentos de calidad de vida (esp, gwbpi, nhp y cuestionario de Valencia). El tama\u00f1o del efecto fue de eta2=33,3%. Los instrumentos espec\u00edficos para la sintomatolog\u00eda climat\u00e9rica tambi\u00e9n mostraron cambios muy significativos (p=0,000). Se mejor\u00f3 el riesgo a medio y a largo plazo para las llamadas complicaciones del climaterio. El riesgo genitourinario se redujo al mejorar la realizaci\u00f3n de ejercicios del suelo p\u00e9lvico (p=0,000), la dispareunia (p=0,002) y las infecciones del tracto urinario (p=0,047). A largo plazo, el riesgo cardiovascular se redujo consecutivamente a una reducci\u00f3n de la tensi\u00f3n arterial sist\u00f3lica y diast\u00f3lica (p para ambos = 0,000) y mediante un incremento del ejercicio aer\u00f3bico (p= 0,000, eta2=48%). Se obtuvieron cambios significativos en otros par\u00e1metros: autoestima, funcionamiento familiar y de pareja, apoyo familiar y social, conocimientos y actitudes hacia la
