Gomez Martin <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Esta tesis doctoral recoge los resultados obtenidos en la sintesis de zeolitas tipo faujasita, y mas concretamente de la zeolita x de baja relacion molar silicio\/aluminio, el estudio de c\u00f3mo potenciar la basicidad de estos materiales (intercambio ionico e impregnacion con hidroxidos) y su aplicaci\u00f3n catalitica en reacciones de interes, como la condensacion de knoevenagel y alquilacion de compuestos aromaticos que transcurren a traves de un mecanismo anionico y para los que son necesarios catalizadores basicos.  en las zeolitas los centros basicos de la estructura son los oxigenos de la superficie de los tetraedros (a1o4), que estan cargados negativamente debido a la sustitucion isomorfica de si4+ por a1 3. Para potenciar la basicidad de la zeolita es necesario aumentar el numero de cargas negativas, disminuyendo la relacion molar silicio\/aluminio y compensar esas cargas negativas con cationes de baja electronegatividad (metales alcalinos), de manera que exista una mayor densidad de carga negativa en los oxigenos. por todo ello, se deduce que la zeolita que presenta las mejores caracteristicas para su utilizacion en catalisis basica heterogenea es la zeolita x con estructura fau(estructura abierta), ya que puede presentar una baja relaci\u00f3n molar silicio\/aluminio, proxima a la unidad, lo cual implica la maxima capacidad de intercambio, y ademas posee un tama\u00f1o de poro grande (7.4 a), es decir, buena accesibilidad a los centros basicos.
