En este trabajo se ha estudiado si las c\u00e9lulas madre neurales y su progenie presentan receptores glutamat\u00e9rgicos a lo largo del proceso de diferenciaci\u00f3n espont\u00e1nea y si su activaci\u00f3n es capaz de modular el patr\u00f3n de dicha diferenciaci\u00f3n.  las c\u00e9lulas madre neurales y su progenie expresan a lo largo del proceso de diferenciaci\u00f3n espont\u00e1nea receptores funcionales de tipo metabotr\u00f3pico acoplados a la plc, cuya activaci\u00f3n promueve la generaci\u00f3n de ip3 y la fosforilaci\u00f3n de erk1\/2 y de creb.La estimulaci\u00f3n de dichos receptores favorece la generaci\u00f3n de neuronas en detrimento de otros fenotipos celulares, resultando el exceso de activaci\u00f3n de dicha lipasa nocivo para las c\u00e9lulas de cultivo. La progenie de las c\u00e9lulas madre neurales expresa tambi\u00e9n receptores inonotr\u00f3picos de tipo ampa\/ka, cuya estimulaci\u00f3n conlleva la entrada de ca2+, y en estadios tempranos de la diferenciaci\u00f3n su activaci\u00f3n con kainato incrementa los niveles intracelulares de ampc. La estimulaci\u00f3n con dosis de kainato entre 0,01 y 100 um genera una poblaci\u00f3n neuronal con neuritas m\u00e1s desarrolladas que las producidas en situaci\u00f3n control y que podr\u00eda estar relacionado con el incremento provocado por dicho agonista en los niveles de ampc. La estimulaci\u00f3n con dosis extremas de kainato origina una disminuci\u00f3n inicial y un posterior incremento en el n\u00famero de neuronas generadas a partir de las c\u00e9lulas madre neurales; dicha modulaci\u00f3n est\u00e1 mediada por la activaci\u00f3n de pka, y es independiente del grado de fosforilaci\u00f3n de creb. La activaci\u00f3n por kainato de los receptores ampa induce la proliferaci\u00f3n de los progenitores oligodendrogliales 04+, facilitando una mayor generaci\u00f3n de oligodendrocitos.
