Mediante el ensayo de las tres fases se ha demostrado su existencia y se ha estudiado su reactividad asi como los mecanismos de generacion de tales intermedios. Se ha desarrollado un nuevo metodo de obtencion de gem-diyodoalquenos. Por tratamiento de aldehidos con el reactivo ph sub 3 p\/ci sub 4. Esta reaccion ha sido aplicada a la sintesis del acido 4-yodo-3-carboxi-1 6-metano(10) anuleno. Se ha realizado un estudio cinetico por espectroscopia de ir de los procesos de descomposicion que tienen lugar en las sales de yodonio polimericas.
