Este principio etnico de nacionalidad ha sido un elemento significativo, especialmente durante la segunda mitad del siglo xx, del proceso de invenci\u00f3n de costa rica como naci\u00f3n.  el objeto de estudio esta constituido por un cuerpo de documentos y textos supuestamente filos\u00f3ficos, editados en costa rica durante la segunda mitad del siglo xx. Ha sido interpretado, en este trabajo, con el fin de demostrar que la garant\u00eda de integraci\u00f3n de una sociedad compleja s\u00f3lo puede estar dada por una cultura pol\u00edtica basada en instituciones, procedimientos y acuerdos sujetos a revisi\u00f3n. La vida democr\u00e1tica de las sociedades complejas supone, entonces, una organizaci\u00f3n pluralista de la pluralidad.  mediante la cr\u00edtica del nacionalismo \u00e9tnico presente en dicho cuerpo de textos filos\u00f3ficos, se demuestra que la integraci\u00f3n de una sociedad pluralista no puede estar fundada en una pretendida homogeneidad racial ni en identidades
