La alteraci\u00f3n de las v\u00edas que conducen a la muerte de la c\u00e9lula provoca patolog\u00edas como el c\u00e1ncer, enfermedades autoinmunes e inmunodeficiencias y des\u00f3rdenes neurodegenerativos. Existe una gran variedad de mol\u00e9culas qu\u00edmicas capaces de provocar apoptosis, como, por ejemplo, el alcaloide natural estaurosporina, un potente e inespec\u00edfico inhibidor de quinasas, inductor de una muerte apot\u00f3tica r\u00e1pida y sincr\u00f3nica en multitud de sistemas celulares. Esta mol\u00e9culas poseee tambi\u00e9n la particularidad de promover una diferenciaci\u00f3n inicial en l\u00edneas celulares derivadas de neuroblastomas. Las v\u00eda intracelulares que utiliza la estaurosporina para provocar uno u otro efecto, es un tema que ha suscitado un gran inter\u00e9s entre los investigadores del campo.  el \u00e1nimo del presente estudio, ha sido el de contribuir a aclarar los mecanismos moleculares por los que la estaurosporina es capaz de provocar ambas acciones. Para ello utilizamos cuatro l\u00edneas neurobl\u00e1sticas humanas como modelos celulares, permiti\u00e9ndonos constatar que esta droga induce el crecimiento neur\u00edtico en todas ellas y que,  cuando se sobrepasa la dosis de 50nm en el medio de cultivo, el alcaloide es capaz de provocar muerte celular. Asimismo, las caracter\u00edsticas morfol\u00f3gicas y bioqu\u00edmicas de la muerte inducida por estaurosporina nos han permitido verificar que se trata de un proceso t\u00edpicamente apopt\u00f3tico. Sin embargo, en dos de las l\u00edneas celulares utilizadas en el estudio, imr-5 e imr-32, la droga, pese a causar eficientemente la muerte de las c\u00e9lulas, no consigui\u00f3 provocar dos de los sucesos m\u00e1s caracter\u00edsticos que acontecen durante el transcurso de la apoptosis: la degradaci\u00f3n oligonucleosomal del dna y la t\u00edpica condensaci\u00f3n cromat\u00ednica descrita en
