Luisa <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>El gen card de myxococcus xanthus participa en la activaci\u00f3n de dos promotores inducibles por la luz, los promotores, de los genes carqrs y crti. Card tambien es necesario para la activaci\u00f3n de varios genes especificos del desarrollo. El extremo carboxilo de la proteina card contiene un dominio de union al dna descrito previamente s\u00f3lo en organismos eucari\u00f3ticos, como es el caso de la proteina hmga humana, que se encuentra asociada a la cromatina. la uni\u00f3n de hmga a sus sitios especificos en el dna regula la activaci\u00f3n de distintos promotores, participando en una gran variedad de procesos biologicos. Esto llev\u00f3 a pensar que card determina una proteina que act\u00faa sobre un amplio espectro de genes, participando posiblemente en otros procesos de m.Xanthus, aparte de la carotenogenesis y el desarrollo multicelular.  en este trabajo, se han analizado 613 promotores vegetativos de m.Xanthus con el objeto de identificar nuevos promotores cuya actividad se ve afectada por la mutaci\u00f3n card. Se encontraron as\u00ed seis promotores que vieron afectada su actividad de forma significativa, escogiendose cuatro para su estudio posterior. La clonaci\u00f3n y secuenciaci\u00f3n de los genes correspondientes ha revelado que, entre ellos, se encuentra una proteina de bombeo de toxinas, un receptor de membrana dependiente de tonb, siendo el caso m\u00e1s interesante un factor transcripcional global con caracteristicas arquitectonicas, la proteina lrp. Tambien se ha estudiado la relaci\u00f3n funcional de card con otras proteinas reguladoras de la carotenogenesis que participan con el en la activaci\u00f3n de un promotor de la carotenogenesis, carq e ihfa, con respectoa la activaci\u00f3n de los promotores identificados en el trabajo. por \u00faltimo, con el fin de identificar productos g\u00e9nicos relacionados funcionalmente con card, se ha realizado una busqueda de mutaciones supresoras de mutaciones carc.
