A partir del fago mm5 se han intentado obtener mutantes con deleciones que pudieran conducir a la construccion de vectores de clonacion. Por ultimo  se ha puesto a punto un metodo de transfeccion que permite introducir dna viral en protoplastos de micromonospora y que resulta en la produccion de particulas virales infectivas; este procedimiento se ha optimizado estudiando el efecto ejercido por diversos factores (adicion de liposomas tipo y concentracion de polietilen-glicol  edad del micelio  concentracion de dna y de protoplastos utilizacion de distintos dna y utilizacion de distintos huespedes). Las eficiencias de transfeccion obtenidas en las condiciones optimizadas sugieren a priori que es posible utilizar esta metodolog\u00eda para la realizacion de trabajos de clonacion molecularen
