Teresa <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>La represion catabolica es el fenomeno por el cual  la sintesis de ciertos se encuentra inhibida en presencia de glucosa. Numerosas evidencias experimentales permiten relacionar al isoenzima pii de la hexoquinasa con la regulacion de este fenomeno en levaduras. En este trabajo se han estudiado las propiedades de la hexoquinasa pii de s. Cerevisiae con el fin de precisar el papel que este enzima desempe\u00f1a en la regulacion de la represion catabolica. Se ha obtenido una cepa superproductora del enzima  a partir de la cual se ha llevado a cabo la purificacion del mismo. Los estudios realizados con el enzima puro ponen de manifiesto que la hexoquinasa pii de s. Cerevisiae esta constituida por una unica subunidad de 58 kda de masa molecular  y que la presencia de altas concentraciones de atp modifica profundamente las propiedades hidrodinamicas delenzima. Se describe asimismo la existencia de una inhibicion de la hexoquinasa pii por altas concentraciones de atp libre in vitro   responsable de la regulacion de la actividad de este enzima  in vivo  en funcion del estado metabolico celular.
