Los resultados encontrados han pemritido concluir que parece existir un antagonismo entre los metabolismos de histamina y polaminas en este tipo celular. Usando un tratamiento inductor de la expresi\u00f3n y actividad de histidina descarboxilasa hdc consiste en la combinaci\u00f3n de un \u00e9ster de forbol pma y un corticoide (dexametasona) se obtuvo la citada inducci\u00f3n de hdc al mismo tiempo que una inhibici\u00f3n de la expresi\u00f3n y actividad de la ornitina descarboxilasa odc y una disminuci\u00f3n del contenido de pliaminas totales as\u00ed como de la tasa de proliferacion. En una segunda aproximaci\u00f3n, la elevaci\u00f3n de los niveles intracelulares de histamina incubando las c\u00e9lulas con histamina ex\u00f3gena sin inducci\u00f3n de hdc result\u00f3 en una disminuci\u00f3n de la incorporaci\u00f3n de pliaminas as\u00ed como una inducci\u00f3n de la actividad espermidina\/espermina acetil transferasa ssat, enzima relacionada con el catabolismo de poliaminas. puesto que estos resultados se\u00f1alaban el antagonismo entre histamina y poliaminas en c\u00e9lulas bas\u00f3filas citado arriba, se decidi\u00f3 evaluar la sensibilidad de las c\u00e9lulas bas\u00f3filas a los productos de oxidaci\u00f3n de pliaminas. Como resultado se encontr\u00f3 que dicha sensibilidad fue intermedia comparado con la de la l\u00ednea de fibroblastos de rat\u00f3n nih\/3t3 y la de tumor de mama eatc. el da\u00f1o producido por los productos de oxidaci\u00f3n de pliaminas se manifest\u00f3 con fragmentaci\u00f3n nucleos\u00f3mica significativo de apoptosis.  un segundo objetivo propuesto ha sido la caracterizacion del
