La amplitud y diversidad de estas instituciones han motivado que el objeto de estudio se circunscribiera a la universidad espa\u00f1ola y a los servicios meteorol\u00f3gico y sismol\u00f3gico espa\u00f1ol. La decisi\u00f3n de la elecci\u00f3n conjunta de ambas disciplinas viene determinada por las acepciones decimon\u00f3nicas que inclu\u00edan la meteorolog\u00eda en el area de conocimiento de la geofisica. En primer lugar, se examinan los antecedentes y la incorporacion de ambas disciplinas cientificas en la ense\u00f1anza universitaria espa\u00f1ola. Seguidamente, se estudian los procesos de institucionalizacion de los servicios meteorol\u00f3gico y sismol\u00f3gico espa\u00f1ol durante los periodos de 1800  a 1950 y de 1900 a 1930, respectivamente. druante el periodo de tiempo que comprende la memoria, se tiene conocimiento de la publicaci\u00f3n de dos revistas que comprende la memoria, se tiene conocimiento de la publicaci\u00f3n de dos revistas cient\u00edficas de car\u00e1cter oficial y exclusivamente especializadas en los ambitos de la meteorolog\u00eda y la geofisica: los anales de la sociedad espa\u00f1ola de meteorolog\u00eda y la rebista de geofisica.
