Su empleo en reacciones diels-alder constituye una de las rutas m\u00e1s vers\u00e1tiles de s\u00edntesis de compuestos heteroc\u00edclicos de seis miembros. En a\u00f1os anteriores, nuestro equipo de investigaci\u00f3n centr\u00f3 su atenci\u00f3n en la sintesis de arilazoalquenos conjugados derivados de monosac\u00e1ridos ac\u00edclicos, ya que no exist\u00eda en la bibliografia ningun antecedente en el que se estudiara su reactividad y utilidad sint\u00e9tica.  en el presente tesis doctoral, se han ampliado los trabajos iniciales, estudiandose la evoluci\u00f3n de estas reacciones cuando son promovidas por via termica o por irradiaci\u00f3n con microondas. En primer lugar, analizamos el comportamiento de los azoalquenos frente al azodicarboxilato de dietilo. esta reacci\u00f3n origin\u00f3 mezclas de dos poliacetoxialquiltetrazinas diastereom\u00e9ricas que se obtuvieron con rendimientos pr\u00e1cticamente cuantitativos. En el caso de los azoalquenos con un sustituyente quiral de configuraci\u00f3n d-arabino, la cicloadici\u00f3n transcurre con alta selectividad diastereofacial, aisl\u00e1ndose mayoritariamente las tetrazinas de configuraci\u00f3n 6r. En cambio, la cicloadici\u00f3n de los azoalquenos de configuraci\u00f3n d-lixo y d-eritro transcurre con una menor diasteroselectividad. El tratamiento de estos cicloaductos con \u00e1cido trifluoroac\u00e9tico induce su reordenamiento con apertura de anillo a estructuras de osazona.  tambien se han estudiado las reacciones de los azoalquenos con acrilonitrilo. hemos comprobado que la reacci\u00f3n es regioespecifica puesto que exclusivamente se form\u00f3 una mezcla de las cuatro 6-ciano-1,4,5,6-tetrahidropiridazinas diastereomericas. Asimismo, la reaccion transcurre con una alta diastereoselectividad facial resultante del ataque sobre la cara re del azadieno. En esta reacci\u00f3n no se encontr\u00f3 discriminaci\u00f3n facial en el dien\u00f3filo.
