Este p\u00e9ptido presenta al menos dos estados conformacionales cuando se encuentra asociado a membranas. Cada una de estas conformaciones produce perturbaciones diferentes en la estructura de la membrana.  con ayuda de una nueva herramienta de predicci\u00f3n basada en la escala de hidrofobicidad desarrollada por wimley y white (nat. Struct. Biol., 1996, 3, 842-848) se detectaron nuevos dominios de interacci\u00f3n con membranas en gp41, en gp2 del virus \u00e9bola y en la prote\u00edna pri\u00f3nica bovina.
