Del estudio cromatografico se aislan e identifican nuevos polieteres derivados del escualeno, cuyas estructuras fueron determinadas mediante estudios espectroscopicos. Estos metabolitos presentan importantes variaciones estructurales respecto de los triterpenos aislados previamente tanto de este alga como de otras fuentes marinas, los cuales fueron denominados martiriol 67, diosepandehidrotirsiferol 68, clavidol 69, pseudodehidrotirsiferol 70, 3-metoxipseudodehidrotirsiferol 71, 2-metoxi-pseudodehidrotirsiferol 72, lactodehidrotirsiferol 73, 16-epi-hidroxidehidrotirsiferol 74, 3-epi-dehidrotirsiferol 75, peroxido de longileno 76 y longileno 77.  se realizan propuestas de rutas de formacion para los polieteres cuyos nuevos esqueletos son los mas significativos de los descritos en el capitulo ii. La propuesta clasica mantenida hasta el momento para la formacion de polieteres triterpenicos derivados del escualeno supone un proceso de ciclacion concertada. A la vista de los resultados obtenidos  de los metabolitos aislados que se recogen en la presente memoria parece mas logico que los precursores biogeneticos evolucionen mediante ciclaciones que transcurren de forma secuencial.  se evaluo la capacidad de inhibicion enzimatica de algunos de los compuestos aislados frente a proteina fosfatasa de tipo 2a.
